this project was recorded in my home studio in my backyard. many of these songs were sitting on my hard drive from the last year & a half's sessions, most of it having been written in chicago before i moved back to la. much of the time, i would drive back and forth down a long street called hubbard deep into the west side of chicago and back to my studio in the west loop, usually for hours at a time just rapping out loud to myself. i wrote most of these verses as my son was very young, some were from when i turned my balcony into the studio when he was a fresh newborn so i wouldn't have to leave the house. when the inspiration came to me to make this project in particular, we took these different records and re-produced all of them.
